Age Management/Regenerative Medecine | Internal Medicine
Dr. Sheri Weinstein is double board-certified in Internal Medicine through American Board of Internal Medicine and Regenerative Medicine through American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine and she is a graduate of the University of Miami Medical School where she completed her residency. She is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, Florida Medical Association, Sarasota County Medical Association, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and the American College of Physicians/ASIM, which has recognized her for her diagnostic acumen.
Dr. Weinstein has been featured on radio and tv shows over the years including “What’s up, Doc” and “Talk of the Town” to discuss her individualized approach to medicine. Organizations such as Center for Building Hope have invited her as a speaker on evidence-based cancer care and safety and efficacy of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. She uses advanced diagnostic assessments and individualized exercise, nutrition, and fat-loss programs, combined with one-on-one attention to help her patients achieve and maintain their optimal health. Her concierge practice allows her the time to focus on patients with complicated medical problems as well as practicing preventative medicine for even her healthiest athletes and centenarians.
Day-to-day patient care involves areas such as cardiovascular health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, women’s health issues, nephrology, cancer prevention, bio-identical hormone replacement, nutritional therapy, and weight management. She also utilizes her subspecialty experience through University of Miami’s Sylvester Cancer Center and dermatology department to perform dermatological procedures including skin cancer screening and treatment, and various cosmetic procedures such as Botox, various filler applications, platelet rich plasma injections for soft-tissue injuries, facial rejuvenation, and hair regrowth, and radiofrequency for skin and body rejuvenation and fat removal.
She attended graduate school in Zoology at the University of Hawaii, doing research in endocrinology and teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology. Dr. Weinstein maintains her privileges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she routinely directs and oversees the daily care of any of her patients that may require hospitalization. She has served on the Quality Improvement board of the Sarasota Memorial Hospital for nearly two decades, and also served on the nutrition committee, Medical Governance Committee, and blood usage committee, as well as serving on the Quality Improvement Committee for the past ten years.
“Practice what you preach” has always been an underlying theme for Dr. Weinstein. She continues to compete and dominate in various sports including spearfishing and running races. She has been involved in competitive sports and nutrition her whole life and has been an “All American Triathlete” ranked in the top 5% of the country for several years. She completed her first Ironman triathlon in an impressive 11 hours and 26 minutes, and after qualifying on her first marathon attempt, she completed the Boston Marathon in 3 hours and 31 minutes, (though not her personal record!). She completed the 26 mile Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon in just over 8 hours with a calf injury, and she returned to run in the inaugural Skyway 10K race and at age 53 finished 3rd out of 1228 finishers in the 45-54 age group. Other accomplishments were qualifying for and completing the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championship three times and finishing in 6th place in 2008. Her adventure-racing team, Team “Swim”, was ranked first overall in multi-day events. Since Sheri has semi-retired from triathlon and running competitions, she prefers competitive spearfishing and consistently ranks in the Top 3 in her division.
Sheri is a resident of Sarasota, FL, where she lives with her husband, Rob, who is also in the medical field and a former pro triathlete. He works with her in the practice performing exercise fitness assessments and helping to optimize performance in all her patients no matter their age.
